Through out my career which spans from 1997 to present, I have researched several products with varying results. I have been practicing dairy nutrition for over 20 years and have not seen too many new additives produce consistent results and significant enough for the producer to notice. In the case of Biovigor, the health benefits were so magnified that the producer himself made the comment about the improvement in the health status of the herd after the supplementation of Biovigor in the summer of 2018.
We were set up to measure the impact of Biovigor on milk production, components and dry matter intakes which in turn will help us measure the efficiency (ECM). This measure is a standardized measure that helps me with benchmarking between the different clients performance. Immediately after the introduction of Biovigor to the ration, we saw a significant improvement to the ECM. The impact of this improvement is equal to 10 pounds of fat corrected milk. Although this benefit is enough to make any dairyman smile, the client in question was so happy with the health status of the herd that he did not want to stop the supplementation of the Biovigor even though the trial 90 day period had ended.
The consistency of the response is what amazed me. When we started Biovigor on the first dairy, the response was an increase of .2 units of ECM. When we took Biovigor out, we saw a drop of almost the same amount. At the start of the trial on another dairy when we expected a  production drop due to the heat of the summer, production did not go down, but more importantly is that the ECM did go up yet again and almost by the same magnitude equal to the first trial first month response. Once again when the trial ended and Biovigor was taken out of the ration, the ECM dropped respectively. This consistent response was yet the strongest evidence I needed to prove that there is a strong correlation between the addition of Biovigor to the ration and the change in ECM.
The observations I made in both trials, was that the strong correlation between the addition of 2oz of Biovigor and the respective increase in ECM by .2 units, it is consistent and is equivalent to 10 pounds of fat corrected milk. This response is strong enough that it will enhance the efficiency on any dairy and improve the bottom line. The positive response proves that although Biovigor is a new product and not commonly used on dairies it is big enough for any producer to make it worth the try. I am convinced that Biovigor will have a strong positive economical response under any circumstance. The fact that the health benefits were big enough for a producer to notice without any measurement, is another proof to the science behind the product’s cellular function improvements as well as to the antioxidative properties of Biovigor. Efficiency is so critical to profitability in any business and to have the opportunity to improve it, these days, is a must on any dairy.
